Purpose

Type I nets are intended for use in Class I restraint systems but may be used in Class II restraint systems.

Type I pallets are intended for use in Class I restraint systems with Type I nets but may be used in Class II restraint systems with Type I or Type II nets.

Type I containers are intended for use in Class I restraint systems but may be used in Class II restraint systems.

Type II nets, pallets and containers are intended for use only in Class II restraint systems.

Abstract

STABILIZED

This specification defines the minimum requirements and test conditions for cargo unit load devices to be installed in certificated aircraft and covers, pallets, nets and containers intended for use with the following classes of aircraft loading and restraint systems.

Class I Unit load device restraint conforms to all flight and ground load conditions Including 9g forward emergency landing conditions.

Class II All other unit load device restraints.
