API Bulletin 5100

This bulletin provides technical information that may be utilized when planning and selecting the type and design of wells associated with carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS). The intent of this document is to provide the user with comprehensive information on the suitability of ordinary Portland cement (OPC) as a barrier in CCUS applications. This document is not intended to be an exhaustive or prescriptive tool; rather, it contains information to increase knowledge and assist industry in the safe and long-term reliability of OPC in CCUS applications The studies cited in this bulletin were performed with OPC that met the requirements of API 10A.
