Full Description

This standard specifies indoor air quality and minimum ventilation rates which will be acceptable to human occupants and will not impair health.

This standard applies to all indoor or enclosed spaces which people may occupy. It does not apply to spaces where other applicable standards and requirements dictate larger amounts of ventilation air than this standard. Release of heat and moisture in residential kitchens and bathrooms, locker rooms, swimming pools, and saunas is included in the scope of this standard.
