CAN/CGSB 3.6-2000 Historical [ Withdrawn ]

This standard applies to two types of diesel fuel, Type A and Type B, that are suitable for use in high-speed diesel engines. These engines generally operate at speeds in excess of 1200 r/min.

Both types of fuel may be used in off-road (also called off-highway) diesel-powered equipment in services involving relatively high loads, for example, industrial equipment and heavy mobile equipment used in construction.

Type A is intended for use when ambient temperatures require better low-temperature properties than Type B has.

Type B is intended for use when ambient temperatures and fuel storage conditions allow use of such fuel.
