Full Description

Preface:

This is the second edition of CSA ISO 14064-1, Greenhouse gases — Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals, which is an adoption without modification of the identically titled ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Standard 14064-1 (second edition, 2018-12). It supersedes the previous edition, published in 2006 as CAN/CSA-ISO 14064-1 (adopted ISO 14064-1:2006).

This Standard is one of a group of Standards on Greenhouse gases being adopted by CSA Group, which consists of the following:
a) ISO 14064-1 — Part 1: Specification with guidance at the organization level for quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals;
b) ISO 14064-2 — Part 2: Specification with guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring and reporting of greenhouse gas emission reductions or removal enhancements; and
c) ISO 14064-3 — Part 3: Specification with guidance for the verification and validation of greenhouse gas statements.

This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.

Scope:

This document specifies principles and requirements at the organization level for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. It includes requirements for the design, development, management, reporting and verification of an organization's GHG inventory.

The ISO 14064 series is GHG programme neutral. If a GHG programme is applicable, requirements of that GHG programme are additional to the requirements of the ISO 14064 series. See more
