Preface

This is the first edition of PLUS 1138, An Integrated Checklist for Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems.

This publication provides an integrated series of questions based on the requirements of ISO 9001, Quality systems - Model for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing, ISO 9002, Quality systems - Model for quality assurance in production, installation and servicing, and ISO 14001, Environmental management systems - Specification with guidance for use, as well as illustrative and explanatory materials extracted from related standards and guidelines. The checklist is intended for use by a wide variety of organizations that wish to review, in a single process, their procedures for quality and environmental management.

PLUS 1138 is based on auditing checklists developed by the Quality Management Institute (QMI), whose valuable contribution is gratefully acknowledged. Particular thanks are due to John Fraser, of QMI, and Linda Lawrence, of ISOTAC, for their contributions to the development of this publication.
