1. Scope

1.1

This Standard documents some of the technical terminology used in the field of prosthetics and orthotics, and provides a definition for each of these terms.

Note: This Standard is not intended to cover all technical terminology used in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. It is anticipated that, by way of revisions to this Standard, terms will be added from time to time as deemed necessary.

This Standard also provides a means whereby individual prosthetic and orthotic devices may be easily referred to and readily identified.

The purpose of this Standard is to facilitate communication in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. See more
