We decided to investigate the applicability of water-cooled luminaires to a large office structure, and compare the engergy requirements of a dual duct heat recovery system with the variable volume reheat system designed for the building. Two goals were envisioned at the outset. These were:

1. Utilize the water cooled luminaires in such a way as to reduce the overall chiller plant size
2. Optimize the heat recovery system to utilize as little supplemental heating as possible.
