FRPI Standard Practice 8330 ✓ Most Recent

This Standard Practice 8330 for Aboveground Pipe and Ductwork System Inspection (“SP8330”) is made available by the Fiberglass Reinforced Plastics Institute (“FRPI”) plus fully supported by FRPI through unique education programs.

FRPI SP8330 defines a uniform inspection process for an inspector to arrive at Suitability for Service (“SFS”) determinations for continued pipe and ductwork use following inspection based on a qualitative and quantitative practice. SP8330 shall be followed when required by federal and state regulators, Owners and/or other parties as an ongoing practice governing minimum scope of work performed during evaluation of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (“FRP”) Aboveground Pipe and Ductwork Systems (“APDS”) in operation and basis pertaining to SFS determinations. Such practice shall be utilized to help detect, predict and prevent APDS leaks, spills and discharges that may result in:
1. Unplanned capital investment before normal end of life replacement.
2. Premature failure causing owner operator cost overruns.
3. Injury and loss of life.
4. Environmental damage to land, air, waterways and adjoining shorelines.
