INTERN MPAPS D-71C1-C2 Historical

This specification covers the general requirements, property and performance requirements, quality, identification, qualification, source approval, and quality control. Recycle resin suppliers must identify percentage and type of feed stream (PIR/PCR/Ocean Plastic or Bio Based resin or filler content) of recycle content. LCA report with certification package will be required for large volume commodity resins to increase S-Rating. Resin suppliers must obtain Sustainability S-Rating from purchasing. Parts molded with this material must meet performance specification requirements for molded-in-color outlined in MPAPS D-7139 for exterior molded in color and D-7139P for painted applications.

APPLICATION

This specification applies to molded mineral-filled polypropylene (PP) copolymers with 30 percent glass fiber content intended for exterior truck bodies. PPs designated under MPAPS D-71C1 are integrally colored parts, are not meant for painted applications and for Type A applications, with an UV stabilizer. PPs designated under MPAPS D-71C2 are meant for painted applications and decorative applications, without an UV stabilizer.

The C suffix denotes the use of short glass fibers (SGF) within the PP.
