The EU RHS Directive (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) will ban lead for all affected products sold in Europe starting in 2006. This ban will have global implications, eventually forcing manufacturers throughout the world to eliminate lead. To meet the growing need for information, IPC - Association Connecting Electronics Industries and SOLDERTEC - a division of Tin Technology sponsored an International Conference on Lead Free Electronics on June 11-12, 2003, in Brussels, Belgium.
