ISO/IEC29341-2:2008(E) provides a mecanism for products that wish to use UPnP, but forwhich there is not yet an appropriate standard base device type. The series ofISO/IEC 29341 publications defines an architecture forpervasive peer-to-peer network connectivity of intelligent appliances, wirelessdevices and PCs. It is designed to bring easy to use, flexible, standards-basedconnectivity to ad-hoc or unmanaged networks whether in the home, in a smallbusiness, public spaces or attached to the Internet.
