What is Stainless Steel Conduit and Tubing?

Stainless steel electrical conduit and tubing products (rigid metal conduit (RMC), intermediate metal conduit (IMC) and electrical metallic tubing (EMT))—are used as wiring methods in electrical systems installations. Conduit and tubing are raceways of circular cross-section (i.e., tubular pipe) designed for the physical protection and routing of electrical conductors and cables. These raceways are also used as an equipment grounding conductor when installed using appropriate fittings or the associated coupling, based on the type of raceway used.
