This standard provides recommendations for municipal and private fire services dealing with financial, personnel, and emergency management; and prevention activity including public education, code enforcement, and fire investigation; communications; and equipment and facilities. In addition it outlines the roles and responsibilities regarding fire service response capabilities to fire suppression, emergency medical services, and special operations, including hazardous material response.
