Thurston Hall, a 208,000 ft² (19 324 m²) residence hall at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., houses 825 students, faculty and staff. Originally built as an apartment complex in the 1930s, this building was completely renovated between 2020 and 2022. Boasting several improvements, the newly imagined Thurston Hall proves that a building can be transformed without being demolished.
