This adoption with Canadian deviations of the Third Edition is an update to the Second Edition. The modifications include revision of the clause on marking to remove the symbol double triangle, the deletion of Annex B (normative) regarding the symbol double triangle and the insertion of Annex G (informative) regarding in-service care and periodic checking.

This International Standard is applicable to insulated and insulating hand tools used for working live or close to live parts at nominal voltages up to 1 000 V a.c. and 1 500 V d.c.
